Jeff Waldstreicher is a husband, father, and Maryland State Delegate.

He was first elected by his neighbors in 2006, then re-elected in 2010 and again in 2014. Hailed by the Washington Post as "a reformist voice," Jeff is a proud progressive who stands up for our values. He is a leader in fighting back against President Trump, resisting the Trump administration at every turn as the president continues to threaten everything our community holds dear.

In Annapolis, Jeff has been a champion for justice. He leads the "Fight for Fifteen" to raise Maryland's minimum wage, supports Planned Parenthood and a woman's right to choose, and stands up without apology for our working brothers and sisters in Labor.

A member of the powerful Economic Matters Committee, Jeff is Chairman of the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection. As Chair, he passed historic legislation to ban predatory lending in Maryland, protect consumers from data breaches, and end the sub-minimum wage for people with disabilities. Jeff is also Chairman of the Special Committee on Drug & Alcohol abuse, and formerly served as Chairman of Montgomery County's Subcommittee on Land Use & Transportation.

Jeff is a volunteer and active member of our community. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington. He also served as Chair of NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland, Chair of the NAACP’s Legal Redress Committee, and Pro Bono Counsel to the Sierra Club.

A member of multiple bar associations, Jeff received his B.A. Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University in Political Science and History. He received his law degree from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), where he was on law review.

A lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Jeff grew up in Silver Spring and attended Montgomery County Public Schools. He lives with his wife, Joanna, and their three young children in Kensington. They are active members of Temple Shalom in Chevy Chase, where Jeff served on the Social Justice Committee and as a substitute Hebrew School teacher. On evenings and weekends, you can find Jeff and his family riding bikes, visiting neighborhood playgrounds, and spending time with family.
